Nexor Young Professionals Support Safer Internet Day

Continuing their support for the Young Professionals Network (YPNGlobal) Cyber Champions scheme, Nexor software engineers, Colin Powers and James Bourne, were pleased to visit New Mills School in the Peak District yesterday to promote on-line safety awareness for Safer Internet Day 2012. They presented to three classes, encompassing all of the school's Year 7 students.

This activity was part of a major push for all Cyber Champion volunteers to get involved in supporting Safer Internet Day. Visit the group’s LinkedIn page to get an idea of the number of people taking part. Nexor's own young professionals have now delivered online safety presentations to hundreds of students in schools across the country, but this was the first visit to one of the Peak 11 schools - www.peak11.co.uk - who have expressed a great interest in the scheme.

Commenting on the day, Colin said: “Fantastic to see so many of us have gone out and delivered workshops for Safer Internet Day. We hope New Mills enjoyed our sessions and we are looking forward to visiting more Peak 11 schools going forward.”
